The Sonata for Arpeggione and Piano in A minor, D. 821, was written by Franz Schubert in Vienna in November of 1824. This Masterpiece is the only consequential composition for the arpeggione ever written. It has been elevated to a present day concert work in a masterful arrangement by Gregg Nestor: The Arpeggione Sonata, D.821 for Guitar and Orchestra.
